October is the middle of Spring in Australia and it starts to get warmer here in Cairns in the lead up to our hot Summer. Temperature’s range between 23 and 30° Celsius making it the perfect time to soak up the sun before the wet season is upon us! Head out to explore the famous Great Barrier Reef, or discover the magic of the World’s Oldest Rainforest! With loads of events on during this busy and beautiful time of the year, there is certainly something happening in Cairns for everyone!

Port Douglas Markets: Every Sunday, 8am to 1:30pm – Market Park, Port Douglas

Reef Feast Palm Cove – Fri 4 to Sun 6

This annual food festival in Palm Cove celebrates local products, unique cuisine and all things about the magnificent tropics! Starting with the Longest Lunch on the Friday (limited seats – tickets must be booked in advance), Saturday is the Taste of Palm Cove evening festival where 18 restaurants showcase their food with pop-up stalls, as well as featuring family entertainment and fireworks. Meet Eat Repeat in Paradise 3 – Sat 19

@ Paradise Palms, Kewarra Beach

Returning to the Northern Beaches, foodie festival Meet Eat Repeat will be at Paradise Palms from 4pm on Saturday 19th. Featuring pop-up stalls from local restaurants and a variety of local food vans, this is an awesome way to spend a Saturday evening with some fantastic food and company. Port Shorts Film Festival – Fri 25 to Sat 26

Over two entertaining evenings, Port Shorts showcases some of the best short films from our region and around the globe.
