Atherton Tablelands
Enjoy a full day out taking in the magnificent Atherton Tableland, waterfalls, rainforests and Paronella Park (Spanish Castle ruins) - one man's inspiration and dream.
Your day begins with a scenic drive up the Gillies Range, overlooking the breathtaking beauty of the Mulgrave Valley, Devonshire Tea at Lake Barrine Teahouse, with the inclusion of the Wildlife Cruise, and swim in the now extinct volcano crater lake.
The infamous Giant Curtain Fig Tree will inspire a photograph or two, then lunch at Mungalli Falls. After lunch we visit the picturesque Millaa Millaa Falls, one of the most renowned waterfalls in Australia. Continuing down the Palmerston Highway, onto inspiring Paronella Park for a guided tour of the Spanish Castle ruins in a rainforest by Mena Creek Falls, with time to yourself to explore this amazing piece of history.
After visiting Paronella, our last stop heading back to Cairns is Babinda Boulders, part of the Wooroonaran National Park, shrouded with Aboriginal myth, where we spot the elusive platypus.
Arrive back in Cairns around 6:00pm where you are returned to your accommodation.
